Such Finds

Ok here are some of my garage sale finds. I promised these a few days ago.. better late than never, right? hehe. * The break down* Retro coffee table- So i found this on craigslist for 12 dollars. I figured id paint it and make it " my own". Long story short the guy said he wanted me to take it for FREE. um YES i was and am so excited about this find for our new place. The crate- i got it for about a dollar i have some fun ideas for it! Pyrex - Yes i know, pure cuteness! Green one i found for 50 cents and the bird one was given to me by my wonderful Grandma. Glass jar- i got 3 of these pretty things for under 50 cents each. I just love them! Camera- What a fun find. I paid a dollar for it. It still works. Now i just need to buy that pricey film. ( at least ive heard it can be on the pricey side.) Plates- I found four of these plates and i offered 1 dollar total for them. Without question she took the dollar and said okay! I guess its true what they say.."one persons junk is another persons treasure." Sofa Chair- Ok, i have the chair covered for now. But this is the pattern. In such great shape too! Ten dollars! Cant wait to set that baby up. Cups- 4 cups and 4 saucers ( there is a yellow cup on the top. Hard to tell i know.) Got these for 4 dollars. I loved the colors. So thats it!

I didn't forget about you blog friend!:

It's still pretty early in the morning, but i am one happy girl. My little "monster" let me have 7 1/2 hours of sleep last night! Yessss! I needed every bit of it too. Not having my husband around is hard. Even though he doesn't help at night.( hehe ) He is a HUGE help in every other area. I miss him so much.

Alrighty, on a happier note. I found a pyrex dish that i wanted. Also, my lovely
Grandma gave me one right out of her cabinet. And i will say, i have been a little garage sale queen the last few days (photos soon.) My child is upset so i must go for now. Be back later today for photos (or tomorrow).

Loves.

Suitcase fun:

Still trying to finish projects and clean. The landlord for our appt. is coming
tomorrow to show our place! Ah! So, thinks have been a bit crazy.

Ive been thinking of what i can do with my vintage suitcase. Everytime i go to
a thrift store i look for a suitcase. Maybe its because of all the cute things my friend MeLissa has done with hers. Or of course Elsie has the most amazing ideas ever. Hopefully sometime soon ill make something cute out of it. If nothing, it still looks pretty darn amazing just sitting there lookin'
lovely.

Found this idea off Elsie's blog. :)

Finished!:

Finally! And i have to say i was pretty nervous it was going to be a TOTAL flop.

With the coffee beans my husband roasted a few days before he made some pour over coffee for our MUCH anticipated dessert. Well, it was sooo yummy! Worthy for the recipe book.
And even though it took two days to make it was so fun and worth it. :)

Who Knew?:

Alright, I guess i SHOULD have known. I found this recipe for a "Ricotta tart with strawberry jam" off Emma's blog. I got Brandon all excited for a quick let down. I was getting everything ready and started mixing the flour and what not and then it said "stick in fridge over night." Oopss. Ha! I never read recipes all the way through before i make them. I figure i have all the stuff to make it why would i bother? Not smart i know. Well i am on to the 2nd step ..filling the pie crust. Once again the tart/pie thing needs to sit in fridge over night. All i need to say is...THIS BETTER BE A GOOD PIE! :) Ill let you know tomorrow.

(ps. I dont think this is the right dish i should be using. To deep im guessing. But, it was this or a huge pie pan. )
